WHO WE ARE

The Canadian Ukrainian Youth Association (Союз Української Молоді Канади or CYMK) is a unique Canadian organization based out of UOCC parishes for youth and young adults. Founded in 1931, CYMK exists primarily to provide youth of the parishes with a social base and a sense of community where they can learn and practice their faith, promote Ukrainian culture, develop leadership skills, and make lasting friendships. The organization is unique in that local branches are self-governed and manage their own funds, albeit with mentorship from parent, parish, and priest advisors. CYMK is organized into three levels: local, provincial, and national. At the local parish level, CYMK is organized by age - Junior (ages 7-13) and Senior (ages 14-25). As a result, programming can vary depending on the interests of the CYMKivtsi.
