World-class CYMKivtsi!.... cont'd

It is something we hope and dream for: that when our CYMKivtsi grow up, that they go out into the world, their faith, culture, and leadership skills in hand, ready to learn more and to bring their experiences back to the community, and to our Canadian society.

These last few months, members of our National Executive have been doing just that! Here are some stories of their travels - enjoy!

Reece Smith (Saskatoon):

Location: SHAD Program, Carleton University, Ottawa, ON.

Favorite Memory: Hanging out, talking and working with what are now some of my closest friends.

Something I've learned: I'm so fortunate to have attended SHAD with so many other talented and gifted peers, who have come all across Canada bringing along with them an abundance of cultural diversity and their unique backgrounds.

Talia Kowalchuk (Winnipeg):

My family went to Newfoundland this June to explore St. John's and do some hiking in the Gros Morne region.

And in the spring, I went to Peru and climbed a 5-day trek, with the highest point on Salkantay Mountain, countinuing downward to Machu Picchu.

Andriy Krulhak (Edmonton):

On April 28, our group of 6 (Andriy, Lukian, Nikolai, Gerald, Larysa, Katelyn) set off on our trip to Ukraine. Our first few days were spent exploring the numerous sites in Lviv and surrounding areas. As we had expected, the most rewarding part of the trip was having the opportunity to visit the Orphanage and get to know the children. They were all very welcoming, and toured us around the orphanage, and showed us their drawings, sports, and musical skills. Our last night in Ukraine was spent on a bus trip into Lviv with the children! Together we all attended the Lviv Opera Swan Lake production, and finished with a special dinner at McDonald’s. We know that our lives are all richer for having been given this opportunity, to participate in such a unique trip.
